The News Is Out!!

The news is out!! We're adopting!!

If you haven't heard already, Craig and I are in the process to adopt.  We are hoping to adopt a newborn.  We are using an agency in Amarillo.  We have gone to visit the agency, taken our parenting class with them, and even visited their fundraiser!  We loved them.  We could feel the intensity with which the agency takes their role in the adoption triad.  We could also feel the work of God within this agency.  We fell in love with the wonderful ladies that run the agency and have a deep respect for the work that they are doing!!

Even as busy are we are, I am going to attempt to do this blog so that everyone that wants to know the latest updates can find out.

This process could take several years; however, we are hoping that it will not.  We are praying that God will place a child into our home that needs the love and stability that we can offer.  We weren't previously sure if we even wanted children, but we are both totally ecstatic about growing our family through adoption.

Basically, this is a multi phase process.  We have already gone through several hurdles, and are currently going through the big application and home study process.  Once we are approved, which hopefully will be by the end of January 2011-we will then have our profiles shown to potential birth mothers.

After being approved, we then wait upon God's timing.  This will be the hardest part for both us and our family and friends.  But we both know, and want you to know, that we are prepared to wait patiently on Him.  We know that in the end that it will be completely worth it.

So, what do we need now?  We need prayers for us, the agency, as well as for our birth mother that is out there-who may or may not be carrying our gift yet.  Prayers and your support are the most important needs that we have.

FYI-we are looking to be as open as the birth mother wants and we do not have restrictions upon race, gender, etc.  We look forward to loving the child that God places in our home no matter its background or its physical characteristics.

Thank you for all your support, and hopefully I'll get the hang of this blogging thing and can keep everyone updated!
